Ryegrass

Perennial herbaceous plant, a species of the Lolium genus of the Cereal family (Poaceae).

It is used as fodder and pasture plant, hay, silage and silage are made from it. It is also used in decorative gardening, as lawn grass.

Pasture Ryegrass

It is one of the best pasture grasses. Before flowering, it is willingly eaten by livestock. It is kept in the grass on hayfields for 3-5 years, on pastures for 7 years or more.

 

It develops better in areas with a sufficient amount of precipitation, but does not tolerate flooding with spring waters. It cannot withstand drought and frost, especially in snowless winters, it is sensitive to spring frosts.
