Buckwheat

The genus Fagopyrum unites three species: cultivated or common buckwheat, F. esculentum Moench (2n-16), Tatar buckwheat, F. tataricum, and semi-shrub buckwheat, F. suffruticosum F. Schmidt.

Buckwheat has economic value (2n-16). Tatarska occurs in cultivated crops as a malignant weed; semi-shrub is a perennial endemic plant of Sakhalin. Common buckwheat is divided into two subspecies: seed - vulgare St. and multifolium - multifolium St. Buckwheat varieties grown in Ukraine belong to the subspecies vulgare St.

Antaria is resistant to lodging, shedding, is not susceptible to damage by diseases and pests. The height of well-leafed plants is up to 100 cm.
